This album is just sad to listen to. Not cause the album is or anything, this shit sucks but it’s just sad how this an artist who admired since I was a kid has gone so off the deep end. Like yea, with any album that has been out since 2018, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. It woke up a lot of people to realize “maybe dude ain’t a good guy”. From the recent rants to sexual allegations, it’s nuts. But always, At least with some of those albums were good for what they were if you look past how terrible he is and use the “separate the art from the artist” argument. I am guilty of supporting certain people work who are just not good people. From singers, rappers, actors, wrestlers, combat sports fighters and so many more. I even more guilty of it just not fucking with certain people work cause of their views or bad of a human they are but will still fuck with others cause hell, they made graduation or a had dope match or they made “MUSIC” ! It just fucking sucks, we all are hypocrites at the end of the day lol.
Anyways, this review will be short and also a rough draft like this album. Also my last time to review his music if I’m being quite honest. Alright, if you say the most recent tirades in the last month didn’t happen or even the whole Nazi praising never happened two years ago..is this music good? Well no. Not really? Like sure it’s better than the vultures era but that’s not saying much. Just wild to think a new Kanye album is out and no one just cares anymore. Well not that WILD! You know what I mean. It’s weird cause I feel we should really lock Kanye up and his punishment should be just making beats. Maybe a lobotomy too. Some of the samples here are truly wonderful, like yea it’s mixed like shit but idk he still has that sauce with beats even with the album is in a current rough alpha state right now. They’re some 808’s vibes to this. Also the lyrics are a bit dark and the “performances” are fine I guess. The AI raps usage just fucking suck and mixed so bad when you actually listen to this closely (or just listen at all in general) like yeah it’s cool he realized AI still sucks and is re doing but like who gives a shit? like wow man thanks for the activism for the day, so brave you fucking piece of human trash.
Overall this shit sucks even if you “try” to look past the antics. The Spanish song is funny bad. He ruined a good sample that’s been used by DOOM and others. How you fuck up “close to you” by Stevie? The iPhone notification sound in the middle of the album is so fucking funny. It’s pathetic people think he’s doing all this for a reaction or promo, but in reality he’s exposing and using his kids to horrendous and disgusting views. Maybe if he did died in 2016-2017, a lot of this shit would probably never come to light, well it might have but still. I don’t know how anyone can defend him at this point. God this is bad. Kanye should really rot and if I told my past self from ten or twenty years ago that, they will kill me. *sigh* shit sucks.
