My Worst/Disappointing/Mid Albums and One terrible person of 2022

I’m glad the artists I was waiting for to release their albums did but Jesus christ they’re so many terrible albums I had to suffer through. Well, I wouldn’t say they were terrible, I just felt nothing and anger that some artists delivered as they were promised. Some were years in the making, had great rollouts, or just had that feeling it was going to suck cause of the singles or their antics. In today’s year-end list, I am speaking about those albums and one person who left me disgusted, bamboozled, and hoodwinked with their albums. SUFFER WITH ME, EVERYONE!

Kanye West, Just Kanye West: *BIG SIGH* man. I’ll talk about that “album” after I rant and ramble about this dude. It honestly sucks that this man has fallen off the deep end, worst than he did before. I was “fine” with him being a trump and the biggest controversy he had was the “slavery was a choice” after the TLOP era. I know he was having issues with Adidas, He went crazy with basically doxx higher-ups, to showing them porn for some odd reason, his porn addiction is out of control for a Jesus Christ-loving man. He did get banned from IG cause of this and everyone thought he was going to calm down a bit. Then, the tweet about the Jewish community. Death Con 3 on ‘em. Oh boy. It’s weird lately to see people be very open and racist to the Jewish community. Last week, he appeared on Infowars, which is like a “what the fuck” moment. It shouldn’t shock me since he’s been hanging out with a white supremacist. He loves Nazis and Hitler.

*Bigger sigh* It hurts man. It hurts. I know there's the argument to separate the art from the artist, Honestly, you can with some but with Kanye? In my opinion, it is going to be hard to do. He's saying the shit in his music in his interviews. At this rate, I rather he just produce music and goes away for a long time and be around way better people in his camp. It's pitiful to see him in this state. This isn't the same guy that helped me out in my younger days. He is being taken advantage of. Just sad, I miss the old Ye as they say.

Donda 2 by Ye: Now, music-wise. Just to talk about the music for a second, this "album" is horrible. I said in Rob's Rapid Fire early in the year, there are promising concepts and I applaud the stem player for being a dope invention, it's super incomplete and just lackluster. I hoped he reworked this album again, It would've been at least decent.  I don't believe this album will get a confirmed release and might be another scrapped Ye album that we never see or hear about again. Until the hackers get a hold of it.

Come Home The Kids Miss You by Jack Harlow: Drake ass album title. The rollout for this was odd and baffling. The industry and fans made it seem it was his debut, mainstream album, but, we know who he is. He had the debut album, he has the big single that blew him up, and we know his story. Why did they treat him as vague or as an industry plant? I liked him, he seems like a cool dude to shoot the shit. There is this saying about how people wear their "influence on their sleeves", and that drake's influence is there. Don't mean his flow, lyrics, or charisma, meaning how music fans feel about Drake nowadays. Play it safe, radio-friendly joints, and guest features and producers phone it in. Album is the definition of fast food music, and serviceable but plain and boring. Oh, how boring this shit was. I'm just disappointed with this sophomore effort, I don't think he will slump and fizzle out. Artists will have that down year and will bounce back (we hope), Just keep giving us that up-tempo music I enjoyed in the first place and take risks.

X by Ken Carson: Oh boy, I sure do hope this fanbase doesn’t dox me and they find my divorce papers! Jokes aside, I was putting my stock into the hype of Carson, I thought the album he dropped last year was cool. Playboi Carti has a lot of "clones" out there right now but imitation is the best form of flattery. I don't enjoy using this word that frequently when reviewing music, I hate this album. For a "RAGE" album, this shit sucks yo. The energy is terrible, his flow sucks, the production doesn't carry or hide his flaws, and the length of this album is ridiculous. There were moments when I didn't know the next song was playing, most of the beats sound the same to me. I'm not an oldhead (yet), I'm open-minded to the newer sounds but I couldn't rock with this.

NO STYLIST by Destroy Lonely: This will blend with Ken Carson's "X", I didn't hate this one that much but god, it still sucks. The title track carried this whole album, shout out to TikTok for helping this man. They were bars here and there that I enjoyed, the production was more enjoyable and intriguing but It was just mindnumbing dribble. I'm glad Carti discovered these guys and gave them a platform but their music sounds like Carti leftovers, demos, or fillers that he didn't want to use and just said "here damn" with none of the things that make Carti so good. I honestly struggled with these two albums to find more praise but I can't. Time filler music till we get the real star to drop.

Entergalactic by Kid Cudi: If this is truly it for Scott Mescudi to quit music, what a boring way to go out. *me falling asleep listening to this disappointment of a record.* (The movie wasn't that good either, nice art style, however.

No Fear of Time by Black Star: The way I would describe this album, imagine a movie that regards as peak fiction, groundbreaking, cult classic, or something related to that. You hear it's getting a sequel years later, you get hyped, and the last movie was left on a huge cliffhanger, you get that ticket on the day one premiere, and, bam! Disappointment. This album panned out like those movie sequels that ain't sequels. This is some straight-to-demand or Redbox sequel movie bait at its finest. You can hear these two legends weren't present in the same room making this album in the past two decades. Verses sound half-baked and record via zoom on a shitty cheap mic you get on amazon to upstart your podcast that gets a few listens. Bey and Talib have moments where they sound good but also sound very lukewarm. They just ain't the same rappers anymore. Madlib worked on the album too, I wished he let Chris Crack keep these beats. If you don't know, Chris who's an underground rapper said on Twitter that some of the production was originally his but he couldn't use them anymore. Just a huge letdown of an album, Also I still never heard of that podcast app they released this album on. Just release it on a DSP or sell it online for cash like a real underground artist.

Baby on Baby 2 by Dababy: Another sequel that ain't really a sequel album. I don't want to say too much about this cause I want to kick a man while he's down at his worst, beat a dead horse as they say too. Just a joy killer of an album, It baffles me how bad he fell off. No one listened or cared that this dropped, We have the man giving out free tickets at the cheesecake factory. Crazy how his breakout/MVP year wasn't that long ago and now he's fallen off that quick.

Charlie by Charlie Puth: TikTok the album. That's basically what the album is, just one big giant gimmick album that tries to be catchy and trendy but it failed so so badly.

SHINIGAMI NOTE by Mori Callipoe: I hate @ohbboy and Kevin so much right now. Everyone who follows me knows I am into Anime women or Vtubers. Vtubers have been around for years but blew up in the last two years cause of the global pandemic. Most of them make original songs or covers, which is fine cause they are portrayed as idols with their gimmick characters they have like a demon, dog, or Fate anime-type jpegs you spend 500 dollars to get. With this one, she has made music under Demondice, and oh boy, YIKES! The music between her DemonDice or Mori persona is about the same, minus the meta raps about internet culture and more embracing "I am a white woman who wishes she was an Asian so my favorite K-pop bias can date me" energy. just "uWuing" all over the goddamn place, In one song she ain't using the word "Baka" tight, so badly. It shocks me she got a record deal, as of writing this her debut album drops next week. I don't want to torture myself anymore. HARD SKIP!

The Brave by Tom MacDonald and Adam Calhoun: You're wondering "Rob did you listen to this album????" well yes, when you have your manager play this shit every time you come to work. I hate talking about and putting these grifters on my list, they don't deserve attention or should be more on my radar so I'll be quick. It's MAGA and red-pilled raps that boomers or incels who hate rap but listen to shit that's pretty much generic rap music awhile the singles will be shit the right wing will love, the rest is a boring and soulless set of music at its core. I'm sick of these grifters man, just go away. I rather just have my boss play some Eminem when he was on drugs or Hopsin again than this bullshit.

Bad Reputation by Kid Rock: Another moment where you said "YOU LISTEN TO THIS TOO" wasn't my boss's fault this time. I listened to this via another music review guy's stream and skimmed through the album when it came out to just see how bad this was., Oh, it's bad, but more than anything, it's just goddamn boring. It tricks me. I thought we gonna get more of that right-wing grifter and pandering music we get from Tom MacDonald. We do with the main single, which is the worst but funniest song I've heard this year. The bro on the hook has that voice of the singer of Metallica voice and can't believe we let so many get away with that shit. 2nd track has a funny hook where Kid Rock goes "WE THE PEOPLE!, LET'S GO BRANDON!" I couldn't stop laughing, my stomach was hurting. After that, it's just the same shit he's been doing for years. Another album I knew the album was going to be bad but wanted to laugh at it but, just fell asleep instead.

Mainstream Sellout by Machine Gun Kelly: Maybe I was too harsh on this. I have to respect he's the only one who treats the new revival of pop-punk with respect and care. With that being said...........the album is still bad. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

I’ll Admit by R.Kelly:................?

They’re more albums this year I wanted to talk about since they were tons of duds from the scene I cover but I don’t want to waste more time and energy on them. Thanks for reading everyone, we are at the endgame now.....
